I had eye surgery as a child – Littler

When I was just six years old, I had to undergo eye surgery to correct a strabismus, commonly known as crossed eyes. I remember feeling scared and anxious leading up to the procedure, but the doctors and nurses were kind and reassuring.

The surgery itself was quick, lasting only about an hour, but the recovery process was a bit more challenging. I had to wear an eye patch for several weeks and follow a strict regimen of eye exercises and medications.

Despite the discomfort and inconvenience, I am grateful for the surgery because it greatly improved my vision and overall quality of life. I no longer had to deal with double vision or the social stigma that often accompanied my condition.

Over time, my eyesight continued to improve, and today, I have near-perfect vision thanks to the skilled hands of my surgeons. I am forever grateful for their expertise and care.

Having eye surgery as a child was a formative experience that taught me resilience and the importance of taking care of my health. It also gave me a newfound appreciation for the gift of sight.

If you or your child are facing a similar situation, I encourage you to trust in the process and have faith that everything will turn out alright in the end. Eye surgery can be a life-changing experience for the better.
